Most lighting companies won't put a number on their website. We will.
Landscape lighting projects with K Legacy start at $2,500. Our average project lands closer to $15,000, and larger properties or more involved scopes go up from there.
That's a wide range, and it should be. A single well-lit entry and a full property with layered tree lighting, path lighting, and architectural washes are different projects. Here's what moves the number.
What drives the price
How much you're lighting
This is the biggest factor by far. Fixture count follows the design, and the design follows the property. A front elevation and two specimen trees is a different project than a front, back, pool surround, and drive.
The property itself
Distance from the transformer, how much wire has to be run, what that wire has to cross, and how the beds and hardscape are laid out all affect labor. A long run under an established lawn costs more than a short run through open mulch.
Fixture selection
We work from a curated list of professional-grade manufacturers, and within that list there's real range in material, finish, and optical quality. We'll tell you what we've specified and why, and where there's a meaningful choice to make, we'll show you the options.
What's already in the ground
Existing high-voltage systems, failing fixtures, or previous work that has to be removed or reworked adds scope. We'll flag it during the consultation, not after.
Why we don't itemize
Our proposals come as scoped options, typically a few different designs at a few different investment levels, rather than a line-item list of fixtures and parts.
That's deliberate. Landscape lighting isn't a parts list; it's a design. Pricing it fixture by fixture invites the temptation to cut three fixtures to save a few hundred dollars, and those three fixtures are usually the ones holding the composition together. What you're choosing between is scopes, not quantities: what gets lit, and how completely. You'll see exactly what each option includes before you decide.
What's included, and what isn't
Every project includes the design, the fixtures and materials, the transformer and wiring, full installation, and aiming and adjustment after dark once the system is live. Your workmanship warranty is included as well.
The K Legacy Longevity Plan, our bi-annual maintenance program, is priced separately and is entirely optional. It covers re-aiming, cleaning, and adjusting the system as the landscape grows, and your workmanship warranty stays in force for as long as you're enrolled.
How you'll get your number
We start with a phone conversation, then a free consultation at the property in daylight. We walk the space, talk through how you use the yard and what you want the property to feel like after dark, and look at the practical side: utilities, existing systems, distances.
From there, we build a custom design and written proposal with options at a few different scopes. You'll know the full price before any work begins.
No pressure at the consultation, and no obligation.
